Meet Ashley Hanna, the Unbreakable Spirit Behind Titanium Yoga!
Welcome to the first blog post for Titanium Yoga!
Titanium Yoga is a passion project that is both deeply personal and deeply rewarding, and I wanted to use this first post to introduce myself to you. I look forward to sharing more of my story with you over the coming weeks.
Be sure to sign up for email updates and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Titanium Yoga was born two years ago today, on March 3, 2016, when I was in a horrible car accident that nearly killed me. In fact, when the police arrived at the scene of the accident, the officer thought I was already gone. My driver’s side door was open, my arm was out, and it was green … normally a sign of death.
I did not know this before, but a way to find signs of life in someone who is unresponsive is to blow on their face. That is what the officer did, and I came to.
After multiple surgeries and two years of rehabilitation, I am not only happy to still be around, but excited to launch Titanium Yoga, Ponte Vedra’s only yoga studio!
Titanium Yoga’s name has special meaning to me.
First, titanium is a reference to the hardware in my shoulder, leg, and hand.
Second, it is a reference to yoga, which may seem obvious since Titanium Yoga is a yoga studio, but to me, yoga meant a return to the life I knew before the accident.
When I left the hospital after the accident, I was told that I would be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. That might have been true if I did not find yoga.
I hope our blog will be a place where I can share my story – which I will over the coming weeks – as well as a place where we share the stories of those who visit the studio …
